Meet Our Executives

Alec Charters

President 

Alec Charters started his career in science and R&D, where he leveraged his Biology degree from San Diego State University and worked as a scientist for Universal Foods. After earning his MBA at Colorado State University, Alec transitioned into brand management where he managed the marketing and product development for the retail brands KAL, Schiff and Solaray. From there, he pivoted to operations management where he directed the supply chain for Nutraceutical Corporation.

Since then, Alec has continued to build vast business management and operational experience, founding a wholly owned foreign entity (WOFE) in China and leading a team of international buyers to ensure dependable and cost effective supply of materials and components. Alec also oversaw operations and general management of manufacturing facilities in Brooklyn, New York and Tulsa, Oklahoma for a national health and wellness company. Alec gained valuable manufacturing experience right here at Capstone Nutrition in 2014 and 2015 where he managed the planning and supply activities. Most recently, Alec has been a key member of Capstone’s Executive team, serving as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain, managing Capstone’s purchasing and planning teams.

James Hinkle

Vice President, Operational Excellence 

James Hinkle received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Utah State University. Upon graduation, James worked for a regional auditing firm where he was able to work with a number of clients in various industries, including manufacturing, banking, not-for-profit, and construction. He later returned to USU to earn his MBA. It was during the MBA program that James was introduced to LEAN concepts through the Shingo Institute and assisted with their annual conference. Upon completion of the MBA, James continued his work with the regional auditing firm until he was recruited by Capstone Nutrition in 2010 to help begin their LEAN journey. James’s LEAN manufacturing experience, as well as his broad systems, engineering, business and leadership capabilities make him uniquely qualified to be Capstone’s VP of Operational Excellence.
